A new way to make your online banking even more secure

We’ve been busy building a new, really useful HomeBank Internet banking security feature.
It's totally free, and designed to help reduce the risk of online fraud.

From August 20 2012, we're introducing changes to the way you authorise your internet banking activity.

From the 20th you will need either your mobile phone number registered with the bank in order to use TSB Bank SMS Authentication, or for those who have a TSB Bank Security Token you can use that to complete the following activities:

- One-off payments over $250
- Updating contact details
- Adding a new personal payee
- Modifying a saved personal payee's account number
- Adding or modifying some standard payees (you will be prompted when this is required)
- Re-enabling personal payees

TSB Bank SMS Authentication is being introduced alongside TSB Bank Security Tokens and allows you to make payments over $250 without using a Security Token. It also allows you to authenticate certain actions on HomeBank that would normally require a Security Token. You can now choose to use either of the security measures.

We are also giving you the ability to lower your payment threshold but you will need to authorise any increase by text or token.

For more details on how the changes will work, click the orange button below.

If you currently use a security token you will be able to use either method of authorisation.

To use the new, free text option, simply ring your local branch to make sure we have your current mobile phone number.

Here's how it works

Remember, we’ll never email you asking you to update your online banking security details. Watch out for security alerts posted on the HomeBank login page, or contact one of the TSB Bank team if you’re ever in doubt of an email you’ve received. It’s also important to ensure you access online banking from a computer you know to have up-to-date credible virus software installed.A Disclosure Statement is available from TSB Bank.
