Here’s some good news if you're a leaky home owner - the Government has established a Weathertightness Financial Assistance Package*, to help homeowners repair their leaky homes faster.
Here’s how it works
Homeowners will share the agreed cost of repairing their home with the government and their local council (providing it approved the original work and is participating in this package):
- the Government & council each pay 25% of the costs
- homeowners will pay the remaining 50% of the costs**
A key element of this package is that your property must fall within a 10 year window from the time of completion to the time of lodging an application.

If you're eligible and have a TSB Bank mortgage, we'll work closely with you to assist you during this process (bank lending criteria conditions apply).
*This financial assistance package is an alternative to pursuing a claim through the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service. We recommend that you discuss this matter with your legal representative, should you have a current claim lodged with the Weathertight Homes Resolution Service. **If your council didn't approve the original building work, or has chosen not to participate in this package, you will need to agree to pay 75% of the costs.
